Information about a proper diet
At Pizza Hut, we believe that eating properly and taking exercise is the best solution for a balanced diet. We take great care to provide you with the best food and the best experience in our restaurants. The ingredients in our pizzas contain protein, complex carbohydrates, Vitamin Α and calcium. Depending on which toppings are added, they have ingredients from the four main food groups: meat, dairy, fruit & vegetables and cereals. If you are interested in nutritional value, take a good look at our menus to see a wide range of choices.
Pizza Hut also gives you all the information you need to know about the number of calories in our pizzas, about their nutritional composition, and about food allergies.
Proper nutrition helps you stay healthy – and recover quickly in case of illness. Eating in the right way helps your body function properly – and makes you look healthier, too. This basically means avoiding problems that arise from overeating or undereating.
At this point, we should note that it’s more correct to talk about the right nutrition than the right food. This means that it is possible – and actually beneficial – to eat every kind of food, as long as you bear in mind the maxim “everything in moderation”, which was followed by the ancients and remains relevant to this day.
To be well nourished it is necessary to be aware of the different foods that make up the diet. It is well-known that different people burn calories at significantly different rates, depending on age, sex, height, how the salivary glands function and the individual’s level of activity. There are five basic categories.
PROTEINS:
Found in meat, fish, dairy produce and eggs. One gram of protein has four calories. The body uses proteins only when it has satisfied its other needs in fats and sugars.
FATS:
Divided into vegetable (oil, cereals, margarine) and animal (meat, fish, dairy). It is an important fact (though not very well known) that carrot contains linoleic acid (a vegetable fat required by the body) in almost its natural state. One gram of fat has nine calories.
SUGARS (CARBOHYDRATES):
Present in our daily diet in fruit, vegetables, cereals and honey. They provide a significant and irreplaceable energy boost. They make up about 50% of our calorific needs. One gram of sugar has four calories.
VITAMINS & INORGANIC SALTS:
Vitamins are vital for cell renewal. To underline the importance of a satisfactory daily intake of inorganic salts, our teeth and bones are made from them – and need a constant supply of them.
It is widely known that the combination of good nutrition and any form of exercise (from just walking to taking part in sport) is the best way to keep healthy. With the right diet, the body gets the fuel it needs to function, get stronger and meet its energy needs. In combination with exercise, it improves the circulation, strengthens bones, regulates the breathing and creates stamina.
